Husband, Wife Sleeping While Burglarized In Spokane Valley

PRESS RELEASE FROM THE SPOKANE VALLEY POLICE DEPT: On November 20th, 2013, Spokane Valley Sheriff's Deputy Tom Walker investigated a residential burglary near 3700 S. Ridgeview in Spokane Valley. 

Deputy Walker contacted the 74-year-old homeowner who said sometime during the early morning hours, his house was burglarized. The victim said the suspect(s) entered through an unlocked door that leads into his garage. 

He said the suspect(s) stole a $500.00 Nexstar G.T. telescope as well as his 2007 Hyundai Elantra, WA license DP00265. The victim said he found his garage door open and still attached to the opening mechanism. He said he did not hear the door open because his bedroom is on the opposite side of the residence.  

The victim said the suspect(s) stole his wallet, items from his 73-year-old wife's purse and looked through their dining room. He said the suspect(s) went into the basement and stole two laptop computers as well. 

He also said the suspect(s) placed the registration, insurance, garage door opener and other personal items neatly inside a box in the garage from his vehicle.  

Crime Stoppers is offering a cash reward for anyone providing information leading to an arrest in this incident. Persons with information should call the Crime Stoppers Tip Line at 1-800-222-TIPS, or should forward the tip via the Internet website www.crimestoppersinlandnorthwest.org. 

Tipsters do not have to give their name to collect the cash reward. Crime Stoppers of the Inland Northwest is a civilian organization that promotes public safety by paying cash rewards for information that solves crimes.  It is not affiliated with law enforcement.

    COEUR D'ALENE, Idaho - Coeur d'Alene Police are investigating a reported school shooting threat at Coeur d'Alene High School. A spokesperson for the district said that the threat was written on a napkin and shared  on Snapchat. It says: "CHS school shooting 10-19-18. Be ready." Police tell us that while they are still investigating whether the threat is credible, they do not believe the CHS that the note mentions is referring to Coeur d'Alene High School.

    Ramsey Elementary and Coeur d' Alene Police station have been evacuated after an explosive device was brought to the station for disposal. Police have called in a bomb squad to dispose of the device and evacuated the buildings as a precaution. Coeur d' Alene School District released the following statement regarding the situation:

    SPOKANE, Wash. - After struggling with medical issues recently, retired Spokane County Sheriff's Office K9 Laslo passed away early Friday morning.  "It is with the most heavy heart that I tell you K9 Laslo passed away this morning at 0115hrs," a post on Laslo's Facebook page said Friday morning. "There will be a piece of my heart always missing. To the best partner I ever had, R.I.P."

    A small plane ended up on a Long Island road after authorities say the aircraft ran off a runway. No one was injured. It happened around 12:30 p.m. Saturday at Lufker Airport, a small airfield in East Moriches. The Federal Aviation Administration says a Piper PA-28 landed but rolled off the runway onto the two-lane Montauk Highway, with two people aboard.

It prohibits the United States and Russia from possessing, producing or test-flying a ground-launched cruise missile with a range of 300 to 3,400 miles.
