Post Falls Man Foils Burglary; Two Suspects Arrested

POST FALLS, Idaho -

Deputies with the Kootenai County Sheriff's Office were called to a home in Post Falls on Monday for a report of a burglary in progress. 

A Post Falls resident came home just before 3:00pm Monday afternoon to find a man walking on his property near his garage. The homeowner, Garry Fowler, suspected the man was burglarizing his property and went to confront him. Once Fowler yelled at the suspect, he ran away through a wooded area. 

Fowler chased after him and saw the man get into a waiting car. Fowler got a good description of the vehicle, and reported it to the Kootenai County Sheriff's Office. Multiple deputies arrived in the area and were able to find the white Mustang that Fowler spotted and stopped it at Upriver Drive and Highway 95. 

After investigation during the stop, deputies were able to arrest 23-year-old David Clune of Post Falls and 20-year-old Alissa Vonwelser of Coeur d'Alene were arrested for Burglary and Criminal Conspiracy. Deputies say both have extensive prior charges for theft, burglary and drugs.

A spokesperson for the district said that the threat was written on a napkin and shared  on Snapchat. It says: "CHS school shooting 10-19-18. Be ready." Police tell us that while they are still investigating whether the threat is credible, they do not believe the CHS that the note mentions is referring to Coeur d'Alene High School.

    Ramsey Elementary and Coeur d' Alene Police station have been evacuated after an explosive device was brought to the station for disposal.
