Child Endangerment Charge For Woman Who Drove Through Fairchild A.F.B. Fence

Arika McDowell, the 22 year old driver of a vehicle that crashed through the fence at Fairchild A.F.B. is being charged with D.U.I. and Reckless Endangerment of a Child. 

The woman driver's 14 year old brother was in the passenger seat at the time of the crash and was taken to Sacred Heart suffering from a back injury.  Police say they believe the woman passed out behind the wheel before going through the fence up to 400 feet.  The driver was taken to Spokane County jail.

Washington State Police say a vehicle crashed through a fence at Fairchild A.F.B. around 6:30 Sunday evening sending one person to the hospital.

Officials tell us the vehicle damaged around 30 feet of fencing.  There will only be a minor security issue while the fence is being repaired.  The fence is about 50 to 100 feet from the housing area. 

The driver, a woman , was taken into custody following the wreck and charges are pending for her.  The male passenger was taken to Sacred Heart.  His injuries are unknown at this time.  There was only one vehicle involved in this wreck.
