Sunny Greinacher Tabbed WCC Player Of The Week

SAN BRUNO, Calif. – (December 9, 2013 - Gonzaga University women's basketball junior forward Sunny Greinacher was tabbed West Coast Conference Player of the Week.

Greinacher helped No. 24 Gonzaga to three wins last week as the Bulldogs improved to 7-1 overall. Greinacher reached double-figures in all three games and averaged 14.0 points, 8.7 rebounds, 1.3 steals and 1.7 assists per game, while shooting a blistering 59.4 percent (19-32) from the field. She also was a perfect 4-of-4 at the charity stripe.

Greinacher started the week scoring a then-season high 14 points - on 7-of-11 shooting - in the Zags victory over Fairfield University. She also had four rebounds, two steals, one block and one assist in 23 minutes of play. She followed with a 10-point, eight-rebound performance against Portland State University.

She saved her biggest game for last as she tallied a season-high 18 points and a career-high 14 boards (7 offensive) in helping the Zags earn a one-point road victory over Ohio State University on Sunday. Greinacher had 10 points in the final half against the Buckeyes, and added three blocks and two assists. The double-double is Greinacher's first of her career.
