Thursday: Cloudy skies throughout the day today. The cold front, containing snow showers, looks to move over the Cascades this afternoon. Look for the chance of snow starting around Spokane between 6-9pm tonight. High: 33°

Thursday Night: Cloudy skies and snow showers around Spokane. Chance for some mixed precipitation (including freezing rain) for the lower Columbia Basin. Anywhere from a dusting to 1.5" of snow expected by tomorrow morning. Low: 25°

Friday: Some lingering, light snow showers early in the morning before they push further east. Central and Eastern Panhandle have the best chance of some light snow lasting into the afternoon. Then drying conditions from west-east. Expect mostly cloudy skies. High: 32°

    KOOTENAI COUNTY, Idaho - The Kootenai County Sheriff's Office reports a 39-year-old man from Spokane was booked into the Kootenai County Jail for the 21st time on Wednesday. Deputies arrested Anthony K. Thompson for a felony escape from community custody warrant and possession of stolen property.

(AP) - New Jersey authorities have seized 44 pounds (20 kilograms) of cocaine and heroin they say was hidden inside a shipment of onions in a tractor-trailer.    Morris County prosecutors say the drugs and more than $100,000 in cash were found during a traffic stop Tuesday night in Netcong.    They say the truck driver, 44-year-old Vantwuan Williams of Victorville, California, gave the officer multiple fake names.
