Honors Continue To Pour In For Rehkow

by Idaho Athletics Media Relations

Austin Rehkow continues to be listed among the nation’s best college football players with mention on four more teams Tuesday.

Already a member of the Walter Camp Team and the Sporting News All-Freshman Team, Rehkow was a first-team All-Independent choice of CollegeSportsMadness.com, a second team All-American by SB Nation, a third-team All-American by the Associated Press and an honorable mention All-American by Sports Illustrated.

A graduate of Central Valley High School (Spokane, Wash.), Rehkow – as a true freshman, led the nation in punting average with an Idaho single-season record of 47.8 yards per kick. For a punter who kicked at least 75 times in a single season, it is the highest average ever in the FBS and it is the best average ever by a freshman for a single season.
