Posted:
The Gonzaga women's basketball team defeated Washington State 70-62 on Saturday, Dec. 21, as both team's watched their nonconference schedules come to a close.

The Zags (10-2) were led by Haiden Palmer's 20 points and a game-high six steals, while Lindsay Sherbert added 13 points and nabbed five rebounds. It was Palmer who got Gonzaga back in the game when she drained a three-pointer to tie the game at 8-all with a little over 12 minutes left to play in the first half.

The Cougars (6-6) finished with four players in double figures with Tia Presley racking up a team-high 19 points. Lia Galdeira finished with 15 points and 6 boards. Sage Romberg and Shalie Dheenshaw both had 10 points and combined for 15 rebounds.

The Bulldogs will travel to St. Mary's to open up their West Coast Conference schedule next Saturday, Dec. 28.

Washington State will open up Pac-12 play Friday, Jan. 3, when they host Arizona State.
