Fever Signs Linebacker Nduka

Posted: Updated:

The Tri-Cities Fever would like to announce the signing of Linebacker E.J. Nduka (6'5" 260 lbs.).

Nduka signs with the Fever after playing in 2013 for the Toronto Argonauts of the Canadian Football League. Prior to the CFL he played parts of two seasons for the Allen Wranglers/Texas Revolution of the IFL where he posted 25 tackles, 6 sacks, 4 QBHs, 4 forced fumble, 1 fumble recovery for a touchdown.

As a team captain of the defense, while at Sam Houston State Nduka led the team to the 2011 & 2012 FCS championship games, where the Bearkats finished runner up to North Dakota State both times. After college EJ was rated the 39th best outside linebacker in the draft and a Top 20 Pass rusher in the country.

"Very good pass rusher," When coach Shackleford was asked about Nduka. He has size and speed to disrupt the offense. "Quick and explosive," Shackleford went on to say about his new linebacker for the 2014 season.

E.J. said his opportunity with the Fever and playing in the Tri-Cities is akin to this biblical quote "but those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint." (Isaiah 40:31 NIV)

E.J. was born in Dallas, Texas to parents Obie and Prince Nduka, who are originally from Nigeria. He attended high school in New Jersey at Jackson Memorial High School where he was a star basketball player, who only began to focus on football in college.
