Woman In Walla Walla Fatally Shot

WALLA WALLA, Wash. - The Walla Walla County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the homicide of Yesica Olivos, a 20 year old Hispanic female resident of Walla Walla.
The victim’s body was discovered near the intersection of Mojonnier and Beet Roads on the morning of Friday, January 3, 2014 by a pedestrian who reported it to the Walla Walla Police Department. Due to the reported location, the WWSO was contacted. A Patrol Deputy responded to the area and confirmed the death.
All traffic was diverted on January 3, 2014 while Sheriff’s Detectives, with assistance of Walla Walla Police and Washington State Patrol Detectives, investigated the scene. The at-scene investigation took several hours. The crime scene investigation was completed shortly after dark and normal traffic in the area was restored.
An autopsy was conducted on Saturday, January 4, 2014. Walla Walla County Coroner Richard Greenwood classified the death as a homicide by gunshot wound. The specific manner and details of the death are being withheld due to the ongoing investigation. The investigation is being led by WWSO Chief Deputy John King and Detective Sergeant Gary Bolster.
No arrests have been made and no suspects have been identified at this time.
