UPDATE: Missing 16-Year-Old Girl Back In Moses Lake

Posted: Updated:
GRANT COUNTY, Wash. - Grant County Deputies say 16-year-old Monica Helberg is back in Grant County and is reunited with her family.

A press release issued Wednesday afternoon said that Helberg turned herself in to a Moses Lake attorney Wednesday. The release said Monica is safe and in good health. She told deputies she was not abducted, and she was traveling with Logan Moncada willingly.

Deputies say they don't know where Moncada is, but say it doesn't appear a crime was committed and they won't be looking for him.

Previous Coverage:

Deputies in Grant County say 16-year-old Monica Helberg of Royal City in Grant County has been missing since January 8th and is believed to be with 22-year-old Miles "Logan" Moncada.

Authorities say they have no evidence Helberg has been abducted by Moncada, but her parents believe she was taken, possibly against her will.

Moncada was last seen Saturday night at a motel in Albuquerque New Mexico.  When police arrived, the motel room was empty but they did find black hair dye and disposable razors leading officers to believe either one or both have changed their appearance.  Moncia was not seen at the motel.
Authorities say Moncada has family in Crystal City (Zavala County) Texas, and he may be heading that way.  Helberg's family believes she is in danger.

The missing teen is described as: white with brown hair and brown eyes.  She weighs approximately 140 pounds and is about 5'7.

22-year-old Moncada is described as: white with brown hair and brown eyes.  He weighs approximately 165 pounds and is about 6'1.

Moncada is said to be driving a 2014 yellow Ford Focus with a Washington state license plate # ANR8440.

If you see either of these people, contact police immediately.
