Dog Poisoned In North Spokane

SPOKANE, Wash. -  SCRAPS is investigating a report of a dog being poisoned.  It happened on the 3600 block of West Wellesley on Friday and the dog's owner, Melissa Combs says her dog isn't the only one that's been sick in her neighborhood.  Charlie the dog is still recovering from surgery.  He started throwing up on Friday and Combs and her husband took him to the veterinarian. They discovered Charlie had high phosphorous levels in his system.

Combs went home immediately and started searching for what made Charlie sick. The culprit, a meatball she found in the corner of her yard. Charlie had eaten most of it. Combs says it was laced with gopher poison. Now, she's taking extra steps to make sure it doesn't happen again. "We're not letting him out the doggy door right now because we just don't feel like its safe, we want to know that our puppy can go outside and not be harmed so now we go outside with him."

If you know anything about this, call SCRAPS.
