PREVIOUS STORY:

Spokane Firefighters were called to a two-alarm apartment fire in north Spokane at the Center Court Apartments Monday night.

Fire Chief Bobby Williams told KHQ the fire started in a second floor apartment and spread from there. The units above and below were unoccupied and we are told two people were taken to the hospital for treatment of smoke inhalation. Witnesses told KHQ they heard a loud explosion shortly before the fire broke out, however Chief Williams was unable to confirm that as of 11:30pm, Monday night.

The Red Cross will be assisting any residents that were displaced.

Right now the cause is under investigation, and as soon as we get any additional information we will be sure to update this story.
