Burglar Arrested In Pend Oreille County Thanks To Help From Alert Citizen

PEND OREILLE COUNTY, Wash. - Pend Oreille County Sheriff's deputies and a Washington State Patrol Trooper were able to arrest a suspected burglar on Friday night thanks to help from a citizen.

A press release sent out by the Sheriff's Office on Monday indicated that when law enforcement arrived just after 6:00pm on Friday, the person who called the burglary in had actually used their car to block in the suspect's red SUV at the gate of Diamond Lake Mini-Storage on Highway 2. The suspect was apparently burglarizing a cabin next to the storage facility.

When deputies followed footprints to an area where the fence of the facility had been cut out. Near the fence officers located stolen items, including sporting goods, CD's, movies, and paintings that had been taken from the cabin next to the storage facility.

Law enforcement officers tracked the suspect using fresh footprints in the snow and eventually located the suspect, and arrested him after a short foot pursuit. The suspect was identified in the press release as 38-year-old Larry J. Price Jr. of Spokane. Price was booked into jail on charges of 2nd Degree Burglary, 2nd Degree Theft, 2nd Degree Malicious Mischief, 2nd Degree Making/Having Burglary Tools, and 2nd Degree Trespassing.
