UPDATE: Washington State City Sees 2 Office Shootings In 2 Days

VANCOUVER, Wash. (AP) - Authorities say a woman accused of shooting and injuring an employee at a Veterans Affairs office in Vancouver, Wash., used to work at the office.

The Clark County sheriff's office says another employee wrestled away the gun.

The sheriff's office says 46-year-old Deborah A. Lennon contacted 45-year-old Allen Bricker on Tuesday afternoon in his fourth-floor office in the Center for Community Health building on the Veterans Affairs campus.

Investigators say she shot him twice in the chest with a handgun.

Another employee, 31-year-old Neil Burkhardt, a former Marine, took the gun away.

The sheriff's office says Bricker is in serious condition Wednesday. Lennon also is hospitalized with injuries from the scuffle. Burkhardt was treated for a hand injury.

PREVIOUS STORY:

VANCOUVER, Wash. (AP) - Sheriff's officials in southwest Washington were saying little as they try to determine why a Veterans Affairs worker was gunned down and wounded inside a public health building in the second workplace shooting in Vancouver in as many days.

A 46-year-old woman was taken into custody after the shooting of a 45-year-old man Tuesday afternoon. She also was injured.

Sgt. Fred Neiman said detectives are not looking for any other suspects. He sidestepped questions about motive or any possible relationship between the man and woman.

The shooting happened just before 4 p.m. at the Center for Community Health on the Department of Veterans Affairs campus.

The wounded man and the woman were taken to a hospital. Neither one was identified.

STEVENS COUNTY, Wash. - It's been nearly two years since anyone has seen or heard from Paul Brazeau. He was last seen at his son's wedding. His brokenhearted family reached out to KHQ's Hayley Guenthner with a letter asking for his case to be featured in our Q6 Cold Case series. The day Paul vanished started out so wonderful. "It was a happy day," said Paul's aunt Georgine Glatt.
