Gonzaga Drops Out of AP Poll, 24th in Coaches' Poll

SPOKANE, Wash. – Gonzaga University's men's basketball team, which suffered a 60-54 loss at the University of Memphis Saturday, fell four spots to 24th in the USA Today Top 25.

The Bulldogs, who were 23rd in last week's Associated Press rankings, dropped out of the AP Top 25 and is the second team listed among the others receiving votes.

Gonzaga, 21-4, received 78 points in the USA Today balloting of coaches, well behind No. 23 University of Pittsburgh with 148 and ahead of No. 25 University of Oklahoma with 55.

The sportswriters gave Gonzaga 44 points in the AP voting.

Syracuse remained the unanimous choice atop both polls.

The Bulldogs will be home twice this week for the final time this season as the Zags conclude the regular season with four straight road games. The Bulldogs will battle Pepperdine University Thursday at 6 p.m. and Loyola Marymount University Saturday at 5 p.m. for Senior Night.

The Zags are 12-1 in West Coast Conference play and have at least a three-game edge in the loss column over their closest challengers.
