SEATTLE (AP) - Driving across the Washington Cascades is expected to remain a challenge through Thursday after another 1-to-2 feet of snow falls.

Snoqualmie and Stevens passes were closed at times Tuesday and Wednesday morning for avalanche control and multiple spinouts and accidents.

Drivers should be prepared to chain up.

A break in the snow and colder weather this weekend should give skiers and snowboarders the opportunity to head for resorts to enjoy all the fresh snow.

*Winter Advisory for Spokane, Cd’A & the Palouse Panhandle for 1”- 3”snowfall with the higher amounts over Idaho

**Winter Advisory for NE WA and the Idaho Panhandle…2”- 4” more Snowfall for the Valleys & up to 6” for the mountains/passes

Evening/Overnight: Partly Cloudy becoming mostly cloudy with passing snow showers that become enhanced as they push into the Idaho Panhandle.

Thursday: 1" of snow & Slush may cover local WA roads for the morning commute & 2" on the ID raodways (a recipe for slower driving conditions). Expect a rain/snow mix in SE WA (Lewiston/Clarkston). Most activity will wane by the afternoon with partial clearing, with the exception of continued mountain snow showers. …Low/High 28°/41° (AM YELLOW, PM GREEN)
