KHQ WEATHER AUTHORITY: Your Weekend Forecast!

Posted: Updated:

Saturday: Clouds creep from both the south & west during the day As a result, the Blue Mountains to the Palouse & the East Cascade slopes will see light snow beginning by midday. Around Spokane/Cd’A, the forecast favors snow by the evening & continuing overnight. Low/High 21°/32° (GREEN Day/YELLOW Night)

Sunday: Start the day with 2” fresh snow, while another 1”-3” falls throughout the day. Microclimates will heavily influence storm snowfall… Low/High 22°/29° (YELLOW)

FYI: What’s a 50% chance of snow really mean? It's just a statistic that doesn’t have anything to do with area coverage nor timing...it simply means that 100 other days that were similar to the forecasted day, it snowed on 50 & was dry on 50 of those days. Over ½ of nearly 500 Pacific Northwest college students interpreted it erroneously during one of the most comprehensive studies addressing the ”Probability of Precipitation” in public forecasts.

Have a great weekend!Dave

KHQ.COM - Shark Week has been trending on social media this week, and while humans go crazy for Shark Week, a recent trending video on YouTube shows exactly what Grouper fish think about sharks. What's a Grouper? They are apparently giant fish with stout bodies and large mouths. I'd never heard of them before, but after doing some research, I've likened them to the "pigs of the sea.">>
