Overnight: Locally, cloudy with ½ - 1 ½" light snow…Accumulations increase from the WA/ID State into Montana where 4"-8" could fall by morning (YELLOW)

Friday: Plan for a mostly cloudy day that gets even more unsettled as an "Arctic" cold front delivers gusty winds to 30mph and scattered snow showers by mid-afternoon and continue into the night. The strongest winds continue to push through overnight & could gust to 50mph in the Columbia Basin…Low/High 27°/34° (YELLOW)

Weekend Outlook: "ROAR!" Very Cold with low temperatures in the single digits & wind Chills feeling like –15°. A Couple inches more snow is likely Saturday night in to Sunday….But, watch out for the potential for VERY HEAVY snow by the Monday morning commute!

FYI: The world's average occurrence for billion dollar weather disasters is 28 per year. Though, according to global insurance watchdog firm Aon Benfield, there were 41 last year. Of those events, the US was rocked by: 5 severe/tornado, 1 flooding & 1 heat wave/drought.
