SPOKANE, Wash. - With winter weather on the horizon, you might be worried about how your car will fare.

At Perfection Tire, owner Jeremy Dierks told us that they are seeing lots of cars with damaged front ends.

"People are going a little too fast, aiming for the curb, and hitting it with the front end of their car," said Dierks, because they can't see the curb due to all the snow and slush on the ground.

And the repair work is not cheap.

"One curb shot, I'd say on average is $300-$700, for one side of your car," he said.

Another issue they see is pothole damage. And although they haven't seen a lot of pothole damage yet, they expect that when the snow completely melts, it will become an issue.

And, if you drive an all-wheel-drive car, if one tire gets destroyed, all 4 usually need to be replaced.

Dierks also suggested trying to wash the wheels of your car once a week to prevent the de-icer from building up on them.

He also said to pay close attention to your gauges.

"Don't ignore it when the pretty lights go off on your car," he cautioned. "They're trying to tell you something."
