NORTHRIDGE, Calif. – Michael Livingston delivered a pinch hit, sacrifice fly in the sixth inning and Cal State Northridge won the nightcap of a doubleheader 1-0 over Washington State, Sunday.

The victory earned the Matadors (6-5) a split of the doubleheader after the Cougars (2-7) had won the first game 1-0. Jordan Johnson (2-1) went 6 1/3 innings for the victory and Shay Maltese recorded the final two outs for his first save of the season.

Tanner Chleborad (0-2) gave up one run on four hits in 5 1/3 innings. He struck out four and walked one.

In the opener, Joe Pistorese (1-0) pitched seven-shutout innings to earn the victory. The left-hander gave up six hits, walked one and struck out one. He threw 99 pitches, 66 for strikes. Kellen Camus worked the eighth for the Cougars and freshman Ian Hamilton pitched the ninth for his first save.

Washington State scored the game's lone run in the fifth. Ian Sagdal walked with one and advanced to third with two outs on an errant pickoff throw. After Trek Stemp was hit by a pitch, Sagdal scored on an infield hit by Ben Roberts.
