    UPDATE from Coeur d'Alene Police Department: "Traffic flow is being released back to normal in the area of Fernan Elementary and the 700 block of N. 21st. The Police action has been concluded. Fernan Elementary students are being released as they normally are. Coeur d’Alene Police were assisting the Idaho State Police and the U.S. Marshalls Office in locating a wanted fugitive.">>
Spokane Police served a search warrant in the 1500 block of W. Knox Thursday afternoon in connection to a kidnapping investigation. 

Little information about the case has been made public, but police told our partners at The Spokesman Review that the kidnapping did happen locally, and the house they raided was where the crime happened. 

Several people were taken into custody after the standoff, and Spokane Police also confirmed to KHQ that one person was arrested in connection to this kidnapping case after a standoff with Coeur d'Alene Police near Fernan Elementary. 

The investigation into this case is ongoing. As soon as we confirm any additional information, we will update this story.

UPDATE: Several individuals have been detained for questioning, so far only one person has been arrested.

KHQ.COM - On Thursday afternoon the Spokane Police Dept. along with SWAT served a search warrant at a home in the area of Knox & Maple in northwest Spokane. This warrant was related to an on-going, multi-agency investigation into a kidnapping. At least one person has been arrested. The suspect, who hasn't been identified, is what police describe as a high profile target.
