KENNEWICK, WA - Two young adults are booked into the Benton County Jail after trespassing in an empty house near 36th Avenue and Gum Street.

A woman responsible for the house while the owners are trying to sell it called police when she saw a car she didn't recognize in the driveway around 10:30 Saturday morning. Her grandson had been known for showing up there. It turned out it was him, a 20-year-old man and an 18-year-old girl. Deputies have not released their names at this time.

The unknown car in the driveway was reported stolen from John Day, Oregon on Friday morning.

Deputies had to use their K-9, Egon, to track the pair in the basement when they wouldn't answer the door. The man and woman were both arrested for criminal trespassing, malicious mischief and possession of a stolen vehicle. Residential burglary charges are also pending.
