Car Accident Caused By High Winds

Montana Highway Patrol responded to a one car accident on I-15 that was caused by high winds.

The accident happened at around 2:30 PM Sunday afternoon at mile marker 300 near Power.

The SUV was traveling south bound in the passing lane. According to the trooper on scene, the woman driving was using cruse control when she encountered some high winds which pushed her car into the median.

The trooper adds the woman over corrected her vehicle back onto the road and hit the guard rail, bounced and then hit the bridge railing before spinning out 180 degrees. The driver was wearing her seat belt and airbags were deployed.

The woman had minor injuries and was taken to Benefis Health Care System as a precaution.
