Shock Talk: HC Andy Olson On Season Opener

The Spokane Shock will kickoff the 2014 Arena Football League season vs. the Iowa Barnstormers live on KHQ on Saturday, Mar. 15, at the Spokane Veterans Memorial Arena. On Wednesday, Mar. 12, Shock head coach Andy Olson joined SWX's Sam Adams in studio for Shock Talk.

Olson is entering into his third season as Spokane's head coach. Last season the Shock posted one of the most prolific offenses in AFL history by averaging 66.6 points per game. Under Olson and his staff Erik Meyer took home the AFL MVP, Russell Athletic Offensive Player of the Year and First-Team All-Arena honors, Adron Tennell also received First-Team All-Arena and was the Cutters Wide Receiver of the Year in 2013.

      Spokane native Brett Rypien was one of 146 student-athletes nominated for the Allstate AFCA Good Works Team, the American Football Coaches Association announced on Monday. The former Shadle Park Highlander and current Boise State Broncos quarterback has made a name for himself on the field.

      Spokane, Washington – The Indoor Football League announced the All-IFL First and Second Team honors for the 2017 regular season. Two Empire players were selected. Both Empire players selected were members of the Empire defense that proved dominate throughout the 2017 season.
