Exclusive: Governor Bullock Tours Flooding

Posted: Updated:

A KULR-8 News exclusive -- our reporter was there as Governor Steve Bullock visited Musselshell County to tour the flood damage.

The governor first took an aerial tour to see the extent of the flooding.

Then he drove around the area and stopped by the local church to talk to people in Roundup affected by the flooding.

"We dodged a bullet so far with at least the city but there is significant damage. Estimates in the county all together over a million dollars now," says the Governor.

The governor talked about how great the community is -- as it comes together because they have gone through their share of challenges before.

But not everyone is happy with the state's response now and in the past.

"This is the same thing that happened to us 3 years ago, exactly the same thing, and in 3 years there hasn't been one thing that was done to improve the infrastructure," says Mike Balich, a resident.

The Red Cross has opened a shelter in Roundup to help people forced out by flooding.
