UPDATE/TOPPENISH, WA - The Legends Casino parking lot sat empty of customers Tuesday afternoon but was filled with law enforcement including the FBI.

The casino and surrounding buildings was shut down and evacuated while the bomb squad from the Tri-Cities was called in.

"They identified a device that looks like a bomb," Harry Smiskin, the Yakama Tribal Council Chairman said.

A suspicious looking device was discovered by employees in a trash can near the front entrance.

"It's always better to er on the side of caution because you never know when these devices can be real or not," Smiskin said. "You've seen that throughout the United States where they didn't take it seriously. you suffer serious consequences for that and we want to be cautious in that regard."

Cars trying to visit the casino were told to keep moving.

"Big bummer," Jonathon Ashby said. "I wanted to do something since I've worked all week."

Eventually the street was completely blocked off while the bomb squad robot tipped over the trash can to investigate.
