Yakima City Council Votes Down Ban on Billboards

YAKIMA, WA - After more than a year of moratoriums, Yakima's City Council has decided against a ban on new billboards.

The proposal failed by a 4 to 3 vote at Tuesday's meeting. The council did ask staffers to prepare an ordinance to ensure that the city's billboards are kept in good condition.

The city council also decided to wait until April to consider any changes to the city's pit bull ban. On top of that, they also decided to hold off on any changes to the bus system for a few more weeks.

The council did approve a proposal to bring in Kathryn Gustafson, a Yakima Native, as the consultant for a downtown plaza design.

    PASCO, Wash. - The two moms of the kids whose eyebrows were waxed by their daycare officially filed a police report today with the Pasco Police Department. The daycare - a non-profit organization at Columbia Basin College - is licensed by the Washington State Department of Early Learning. The center has been licensed for less than a year, and has had no complaints filed against them...until this one.
