OGDEN, Utah - Fresh off her first collegiate invitational victory, sophomore Marissa Borja was named the Big Sky Conference Golfer of the Week, announced by the league office on Wednesday, Mar. 19.

The Spring Valley, Calif., native shot a 36-hole total of 145 at the Southern Utah Invitational on Mar. 12-13, shooting an even-par 72 on the first day before finishing with a 73 on the second day.

"Marissa has been nothing but solid this spring," head coach Brenda Howe said. "She had a great tournament at the end of the fall and I think that has contributed to her newfound confidence on the course. I look for her to be in the mix at each of our remaining tournaments."

Borja helped the Eagles to a sixth-place finish at the SUU Invitational that was played at the Sunbrook Golf Course in St. George, Utah.

Eastern returns to the course on Apr. 7-8 for the Cowgirl Classic in Maricopa, Ariz. It is the Eagles' final tune-up before the Big Sky Championships in Chandler, Ariz.
