Corrections Nurse Found Guilty of Having Sexual Relations With Inmates

Posted: Updated:
ANACONDA -

A former corrections nurse at the Anaconda START program may be sentenced to prison after a jury found her guilty of having sexual relations with inmates, on two of three charges.

The four day trial for Tisha Brunell came to an end Friday with the twelve person jury finding the former nurse guilty of two of three different counts of sexual intercourse without consent.

Brunell was also found guilty of more than 40 other charges of transferring illegal articles and illegal communication.

During the trial, prosecutors played hours worth of recorded telephone conversations between Brunell and inmates.

A majority of the conversations were extremely sexually explicit.

The jury heard closing arguments today from council, before they were set to deliberate.

Judge Ray Dayton has ordered a pre-sentence investigation.

Brunell is expected to be given her sentence within four to six weeks.
