No. 1 seeded Arizona defeated the 8th seeded Gonzaga men's basketball team 84-61 at the Viejas Arena in San Diego, Calif. in the NCAA Tournament's third round on Sunday, Mar. 23.

Przemek Karnowski was the lone bright spot of the second half for the Zags (29-7), he finished with 14 points and 10 rebounds, good enough for team high's in both categories. Kevin Pangos had 12 points--going 4-of-9 from downtown--despite missing time after landing awkwardly early on in the first half. David Stockton scored 10 points, he also added 6 assists and 5 rebounds in his final game in a Gonzaga uniform.

The Wildcats (32-4) fast-paced offense and defense gave the Bulldogs fits all night, buoyed by the Pac-12 Freshman of the Year, Aaron Gordon, and his 18 points, 6 rebounds, 6 assists and game-high 4 steals. Rondae Hollis-Jefferson had 18 points, 5 boards, 5 assists and 4 blocks off of the bench for Arizona. Pac-12 Player of the Year Nick Johnson scored 17 points and also had 5 rebounds and 5 assists.

The story of the night was Gonzaga's uncanny turnovers. The Zags turned the ball over 21 times, 15 of which were Wildcat steals, even though they averaged only 11 per game on the season. Arizona only gave up the rock six times.

The Wildcats will face No. 4 San Diego State, winners over No. 13 New Mexico State and No. 12 North Dakota State at the Spokane Veterans Memorial Arena earlier this weekend, on Thursday, Mar. 27.
