KENNEWICK, WA - Some Kennewick residents are upset over a new fire station that may be built in their neighborhood.

They have several reasons to not want the new fire station on Kellogg and 10th Ave. in Kennewick.

For one, there's a gas pipeline that some residents believe will cause some problems they are questioning the legality of putting such heavy equipment on it.

The city said they are taking all of their concerns into consideration but assure that there should not be any issue with the pipeline on the property.

Another major concern is traffic, some people are wondering if streets will have to be redone because there is not enough room to pull over when a fire truck is coming.

But, the city explained it is not an issue now and it will not be later.

Tia Marie Bewlay lives in that area and has many concerns.

"I'd like to get some answers, I want answers to all these questions, I want to know how much this is really going to cost the taxpayer, " she said.

The city has until early August to make a final decision on the property.

They're holding a public meeting on Wednesday at 6:30 at Kennewick City Hall to address any more concerns.
