PULLMAN, Wash. – Greg Graham and Silvey Dominguez have been named assistant men’s basketball coaches, Washington State Head Men’s Basketball Coach Ernie Kent announced, Wednesday.

“Greg Graham and Silvey Dominguez are not only outstanding coaches; Graham on the offensive end and Dominguez on the defensive end; but they both have their master’s degrees, which is important to me,” Kent said. “Both coaches are great recruiters and have tremendous coaching backgrounds and I’m looking forward to having them join me at Washington State.”

Graham joins Kent’s staff after spending the last three seasons as an assistant coach at Bradley in Peoria, Ill. No stranger to Kent, Graham was an assistant coach to the current WSU head coach at Oregon from 1997-2002 and Saint Mary’s from 1992-97. At Oregon he was deemed the ‘offensive coordinator’ for the Ducks. During his five seasons at Oregon, the Ducks earned a Pac-10 regular-season championship and a run to the NCAA Tournament Elite Eight in 2002, as well as an NCAA Tournament appearance in 2000 and trip to the NIT semifinals in 1999.

Following his time at Oregon, Graham spent eight years as head coach at Boise State from 2002-10 where he was the school’s second-winningest coach with a 142-112 (.560) record. He was named the 2008 Western Athletic Conference and NABC District 13 Coach of the Year after leading the Broncos to a school-record 25 wins and an NCAA Tournament appearance.

Graham was also the head coach at Western New Mexico during the 1984-85 season, giving him a 160-177 record in nine years as a collegiate head coach. Graham began his coaching career as an assistant coach at Oregon in 1982-83 and followed with assistant coaching stints at New Mexico (1983-84) and San Diego State (1989-92), in addition to his time at Saint Mary’s, additional time at Oregon, and most recently on the bench at Bradley.

A four-year basketball letterman for the Ducks where he played alongside Kent, Graham received his bachelor of science in biology from Oregon in 1978. He went on to earn his master’s degree in educational administration from Dayton in 1982. Graham and his wife, Marsha, have two sons.

Also no stranger to Kent’s coaching style, Silvey served as an assistant coach for Kent at Saint Mary’s from 1991-96, coaching alongside Graham. Silvey spent the last three seasons as an assistant coach at Air Force in Colorado Springs, Colo., and has coached at the Division I level for the last 24 years. Prior to his time at Air Force, Silvey was an assistant coach at Lamar in Beaumont, Texas from 2008-10. He was the Cardinals’ recruiting coordinator, oversaw the basketball program’s contract with Nike and assisted with game scheduling.

Prior to that, Dominguez was the director of basketball operations at New Mexico in 2007-08 and served on the coaching staff at Wyoming from 2003-07. He spent one season at Utah where he was Rick Majerus’ top assistant during the 2002-03 campaign. That year, the Utes won the Mountain West regular-season title and advanced to the second round of the NCAA Tournament.

Silvey also had assistant coaching stints at Western New Mexico (1979-84) Southern Colorado (1984-86), Colorado State (1986-88), Air Force (1988-91), Saint Mary’s (1991-96) and USC (1996-2001).

A native of Grants, N.M., Dominguez, graduated from New Mexico in 1977 with a bachelor’s degree in political science and Spanish. He received his master’s in business administration from Western New Mexico in 1981.
