The Spokane Shock defeated the San Jose SaberCats 73-62 behind Erik Meyer's eight total touchdowns at the SAP Arena in San Jose, Calif. on Friday, April 4. 

Meyer finished with 258 yards passing, and 31 more rushing, to go with his 4 rushing touchdowns and 4 passing scores to lead the Shock (2-1). Mike Washington was Meyer's favorite target on the night, finishing with 9 catches for 171 yards receiving and 3 TD's. 

Russ Michina also had eight touchdowns, the SaberCats (2-2) quarterback threw for 352 yards and all of his scores came threw the air, but he was intercepted by the Shock secondary 3 times. Reggie Gray caught five touchdowns for San Jose, while Rodd Harper led all receivers with 177 yards receiving and grabbed 2 touchdowns.

The SaberCats pulled within seven--42-35--with 17 seconds left in the second quarter, only to watch Terrance Sanders return the ensuing kickoff 55 yards for the score to give Spokane a halftime cushion that lasted for the rest of the game. 

The Shock will return home the the Spokane Veterans Memorial Arena next weekend to face the newly formed Portland Thunder for the first time. The game will be Saturday, April 12, live on SWX at 7:00 p.m.
