Woman Killed In Franklin County Train Accident

Posted: Updated:
MESA, Wash. (AP) - Authorities in Franklin County are investigating the death of a young woman who may have been killed in a train accident in Mesa north of Richland.

Franklin County Sheriff Richard Lathim says they're looking into whether the woman was already dead or unresponsive before she was struck by a BNSF Railway train Saturday morning.

Lathim says the train engineer told deputies he saw something on the tracks and honked his horn but got no response.
