Russell Wilson and the Seahawks scrambled their way into convincing Super Bowl win last season, will the impending contract between the two look as effortless?
Russell Wilson has won a Super Bowl, been selected to the Pro Bowl twice, gone 5-1 in the NFL playoffs, hasn't missed a single game in his two years in the league, thrown 52 touchdowns to his 19 interceptions and will be the lowest-paid quarterback on the Seattle Seahawks' roster in 2014.

Wilson is in the third of his four-year $2.19-million rookie contract, where he is slated to make $662,434 in 2014 according to Rotoworld, and this paltry sum doesn't come close to what either of his backups will make.

Tarvaris Jackson is scheduled to make $1.25 million in the one-year contract he signed to continue his roll as Wilson's No. 2 just last month. Meanwhile, recently acquired Terrelle Pryor will still make more than Wilson. Pryor was drafted by Oakland in the third round of  the 2011 supplemental draft--the same year as the Seahawks main signal caller but not the same draft--and signed a four-year $2.36 million contract with the Raiders. Meaning he is scheduled to make $705,000 this season, close to $50,000 more than Wilson is due.

The worst part for Wilson is that he won't be able to re-negotiate with Seattle until after his third season (next year), ironically enough, thanks to the NFL-NFLPA's Collective Bargaining Agreement from 2011. All bets are off when it comes to how much Wilson will make starting in 2015 with a new contract, but some believe it will be at least 20-30 times as much as he will this season.

As for now, hopefully Wilson can make up for his salary with the endorsement deals that are imminently coming his way after defeating the most marketed quarterback in the NFL, Peyton Manning, in Super Bowl XLVIII. For now, you can ask him about his baseball career. Hopefully he made some cash in that deal.
