SCR to Host "Zombie Night" on the Oval Track

The 1/2 Miles Super Oval season gets underway this Friday, April 25th at 7 pm. This year's Oval opener theme is "Zombie Night" and is presented by Dawn of the Donut, and Black Diamond Ale House.

"We've got some fun stuff planned for the race," says Mike Hoover, Friday Night Race Manager.

Three car classes will be featured: the popular Pony Stocks or "Fevers", Roadrunners, and Bump 2 Pass. Drivers are ready to go and looking forward to the 2014 season. Several races are set for all of these classes this year, and details can be found online at www.racing.sc. A pit party and driver meet and greet will be held after the races.

For many drivers this will be the first competitive race of the 2014 season.

Spectator gate opens at 6 pm. The races start at 7 pm. The event theme is "Zombie takeover". Several activities are planned, including a costume contest for best "zombie" at intermission. One winner and one runner-up will be chosen by the crowd for Adults (over 21) and Youth (Under 21). The Adult costume contest winner will receive an all event SCR Season Pass valued at over $600. Other prizes will be awarded to fans throughout the night from, including gift cards from Black Diamond, Dawn of the Donut, Zombie Espresso and Zombie Juice.

Admission is just $8 and will be available at the gate. Children 8 & under, and active military are free.
