KENNEWICK, WA - A jury has found 33-year-old Natalie Lincoln not guilty of vehicular homicide. The charge stemmed from a fatal accident last year.

Lincoln was on trial for killing 50-year-old Steve Covert of West Richland in an accident on Highway 224 back in June 2013.

However, prosecutors didn't charge Lincoln with vehicular homicide until January 2014. Prosecutors said Lincoln's blood test from the day of the crash showed that she had several prescription drugs in her system, including a muscle relaxer.

The victim's family tells NBC Right Now they're moving on, but they want to raise awareness about prescription medications and proper use.

"Mixing these things can cause side effects and can cause horrible things to happen and we just don't want to see this happen to another family," Cindy Covert said.

State Troopers say Lincoln crossed into on-coming traffic on Highway 224 near Kingston and hit two cacars .Lincoln'sttorney told the jury the crash happened when Lincoln looked down for a moment while driving.
