SPOKANE COUNTY, Wash. - Monday night, the Spokane County Board of Commissioners unanimously approved revisions to the Interim Zoning Ordinance regarding the production and processing of recreational marijuana in Spokane County.

Among the changes that were made address the minimum acreage for parcels, depending on the growing/processing operation. For tier 1 permits, the lot would have to be less than three acres in size, and less than 5 acres in size for tiers 2 and 3.

The commissioners also addressed the setbacks for grow operations. Any grow structure must be a minimum of 100 feet from any front property line, 50 feet from any side, flanking or rear property line and 300 feet from any primary residence on an adjacent property.

The County Commissioners will schedule another public hearing within 60 days to take testimony on the new revised Interim Zoning Ordinance.
