Coleman Leaving Gonzaga, Source Confirms to SWX

SPOKANE, Wash. -- Gerard Coleman is transferring from Gonzaga for his senior season, a source confirmed to SWX on Monday.  The Spokesman-Review was the first to report Coleman's decision, which comes as the Bulldogs are reportedly high on the list of another potential transfer, USC wing Byron Wesley.

Coleman averaged 6.0 points per game in his only season with Gonzaga as a junior, logging an average of 11.4 minutes while appearing in all but two of Gonzaga's games in 2013-14.  He was viewed as a promising transfer out of Providence, averaging 13.2 points in 34.0 minutes for the Friars in 2011-12.  Coleman scored in double figures in his first two games at Gonzaga, and had 19 points in the Maui Invitational against Chaminade, and then a season-high 21 points versus New Mexico State less than two weeks later.  But Coleman's playing time diminished as Gonzaga closed out its non-conference schedule and transitioned to West Coast Conference play.
