PROSSER, WA - The state liquor control board has approved the first marijuana business in the lower Yakima Valley. Fireweed Farms will be located on West Johnson Road in Prosser. Their license is for producing marijuana only.

Their home lies within Benton County where commissioners have decided to allow marijuana businesses to operate. Still, a neighbor we spoke with Tuesday says he's unsure about having a marijuana operation so close to home.

"There are people that say 'oh it doesn't hurt you,'" Neal Barnhart said. "But like I said before, I think it leads to other things if you let it. You can't control yourself."

We reached out to the owners of Fireweed Farms Tuesday but they declined to comment.
