SPOKANE, Wash.- Friends and family of Ayla James would like to thank the Spokane community for coming together to support Ayla James and Gracie Snider. The raffle fundraiser held on Sunday was a huge success and raised over $9,000 for Ayla's family. Ayla James is the ten-year-old girl who was injured in a tragic vehicle accident just a few weeks ago that killed her friend, Gracie Snider. Ayla remains in a coma, fighting for her life at Harborview Medical Center.

The raffle was held at the Albertsons grocery store near Wandermere on Sunday. Tickets were just $1 but people in the community contributed in ways much larger than just purchasing a raffle ticket.

600 raffle tickets and $330 were donated to Gracie's family and they ended up winning 10 different items from the raffle. .

The manager at Red Lobster personally bought 100 tickets and asked that the be given to Gracie's family. Ironically, Gracie's family won the two $25 gift cards to Red Lobster!

Olive Garden donated a $50 gift card as well but they also brought lunch not just to people at the Spokane fundraiser but also to the staff at Cooper & Evergreen where the girls went to school AND arranged for the Kirkland Olive Garden to bring lunch to Ayla's family and the entire 9th floor of Harborview Medical Center.

There was also a bake sale and all the baked goods were sold by donation only. According to a woman close to the James' family who helped organize the fundraiser, one couple picked out four baked goods and paid $1,300 for them!
