COEUR D'ALENE, Idaho - The Coeur d'Alene Police Department is investigating a possible child enticement that happened over the weekend.

Sgt. Christie Wood told KHQ officers took the report on Saturday night, after a woman told them a man was hanging around her neighborhood on W. Fairway Drive near the Coeur d'Alene Golf Club. The woman told police she noticed a white van parked near her home with a man she didn't recognize in the driver's seat.

The woman said she saw the man walking on her property five days earlier while her son was playing in her yard. According to the woman, the man asked the three-year-old boy to come to his van and help him with his dog. When she noticed the man talking to her son, she confronted him, and he began to walk back to his van and said he needed a jump start. She told him to leave, and he did.

Five days later, on Saturday, she noticed the same van and the same man parked near her property again. With her 7, 5, and 3-year-old sons playing in the yard, the woman again confronted the man and asked what he was doing. This time the man told her he comes to the area to "tie" his dogs. When she said she was going to call the police, the man told her he had just got out of jail and didn't want her to call, so he left.

The woman was able to get the license plates for the van, and police have made contact with the owner, but determined the owner was not in possession of the van at the time of the incidents. Police say they are continuing to follow up with the owner.

The suspect is being described as a white man with long brown "wavy" hair. He is about 5'6", and 110 pounds. The woman said he appeared to be about 40-years-old, wearing a blue baseball hat, white tee shirt and gray jeans.

The van was a 1989 White GMC Savana with Idaho plates.

Anyone with information on the identity of this man is asked to call the Coeur d'Alene Police Department at 208-769-2320.
