KENNEWICK, WA - A Kennewick Boy Scout has finished his Eagle Scout project, just in time for Memorial Day. Hunter Robbins is an 8th grader at Desert Hills Middle School. The 14 year old raised $2,000 to have a monument and flag pole installed at Riverview Heights Cemetery memorializing Operation Enduring Freedom and Operation Iraqi Freedom.

"It's just a little unbelievable because it's taken so long and it's better than what they were describing at the start," said Robbins. "It sounded good, but then when you actually see it, it looks a lot better than you could imagine."

On Memorial Day, a flag that has flown over the Unknown Soldier's Tomb at Arlington National Cemetery will start flying over the new monument. Robbins is set to become an official Eagle Scout in a month or two, and eventually plans to join the Navy.

LOOKOUT PASS - Investigators with Montana Highway Patrol say a pilot was flying an experimental aircraft and trying to go over Lookout Pass when he reportedly hit a downdraft and the plane's engine gave out. Troopers say the pilot aimed for the only thing he could think of which was the highway. He landed hard in the eastbound lanes of Interstate 90.
