UPDATE/NILE, WA - An extremely scary moment for some campers in the Nile area Sunday night when a pick-up truck rolled over a young woman stargazing.

We spoke with the girl. She said there must be a guardian angel watching over her because miraculously it appears she didn't break any bones in her body. Her right arm is in a sling though, and she said she's feeling very sore.

The 22-year-old girl and her family didn't want to talk on camera, but they did give us a play by play of what happened.

The girl said she was stargazing around midnight on the lawn of her grandparent's house when she noticed a pick up truck coming right at her. She said she tried to scream, thinking he would stop but he didn't. Next thing she knew, the tire was rolling over her and she was banging on it telling him to get off.

Sheriff's deputies said when the driver heard that screaming, he backed off.

Deputies tell us the driver was only in the area looking for a party and apparently didn't see the woman laying in the grass.

Deputies said the man had been drinking, and campers tell us that the driver blew three times over the legal limit.

He's booked into Yakima County Jail for vehicular assault and DUI.

The young lady also told us that she wants this to be a learning experience for him. She said she hopes he never drinks and gets behind the wheel ever again.

NILE, WA - A woman injured her shoulder and her side late Sunday night when she was run over by a truck.

Yakima County Sheriff Deputies say the 22-year-old woman was stargazing in the front yard of her grandparent's home on Westsiders lane in Naches.

Deputies say a drunk driver looking for a party, made a u-turn in the yard and didn't see the woman on the ground. Deputies say the driver ran over the woman twice, and stopped when he heard her scream.

Paramedics took the woman to Yakima Regional Medical Center. Deputies haven't released her name so we can't check on her condition.

Deputies arrested and booked Wayne Raymond Workman into the Yakima County Jail for vehicular assault and DUI.

The Interior Department is rolling back its plan to increase fees at 17 of the nation's most popular parks.  An interior official says the department is amending the plan following major backlash from the public.  The admission hike would have more than doubled fees during the peak summer season, forcing visitors to pay $70 a car. No word yet on exactly how the rates are being revised. >>
