GRANT COUNTY, Wash. - The Grant County Sheriff's Office is asking for your help in locating a man who assaulted another man during Memorial Day weekend in Moses Lake.

Deputies say they were called out to the Crescent Bar area on Saturday afternoon on an assault call. When they arrived, they found 37-year-old Corey T. Barker of Tacoma complaining of having no sensation on the left side of his body. Barker was first taken to a hospital in Wentachee, and then flown to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle. At last check, deputies say Barker was undergoing surgery for a broken neck and bleeding in his brain.

Deputies say Barker and his friends were on a boat tied to other boats at the Moses Lake Sand Dunes. Barker and his friends were hopping from boat to boat, partying and drinking alcohol. At some point, Barker was dancing with a woman when the woman's boyfriend showed up, and according to witnesses shoved Barker. After being shoved, Barker fell off the boat head first into about a foot of water, striking his head. Barker and his friends didn't realize how serious his injuries were, and him and his friends returned to Crescent Bar.

Now deputies are looking for the man who pushed Barker. Witnesses say he was white, in his mid-20's, about 6'0" tall with a muscular build and was wearing shorts and a baseball hat. He also has a large tattoo on his back and multiple tattoos on his arms. Deputies are not sure if the man was from the area.

The suspects girlfriend his described as being white, in her late-20's with bleached blonde hair, and she was seen wearing a black bikini.

The boat where the victim was assaulted is a white, mid-90's ski boat with squared windows and it had a chrome rack with speakers. Deputies say they don't know how the suspect or his girlfriend were associated with the boat.

Anyone with information about this incident is asked to call the Grant County Sheriff's Office at 509-762-1160 and reference case number 14GSO5845. You can remain anonymous.
