PULLMAN, Wash. -- Media was allowed into the brand new state-of-the-art Washington State University Football Complex today, June 3, and impressed doesn't accurately portray how nice the new facilities that Athletic Director Bill Moos and his staff have put together and are almost completed.

Senior quarterback Connor Halliday wishes he could spend more than just his final season enjoying the new football compound.

"It's humbling to see something like this in Pullman," Halliday said. "I'm just do thankful that I get season to play in it."

For junior linebacker Darryl Monroe, the building offers a place of focus for himself and his fellow teammates.

"When you're here you're in that football mode, that football zone," Monroe said.

This building symbolizes more than just an upgrade in locker room and weight room space for the Cougars. It shows the shift in pride for and in the football program.

"It's really hard to believe, unless you've been a part of it, to see how much its changed," Monroe said.

With the entire Pac-12 Conference seeming to expand and grow after the original Pac-10 added two more members and created its own network and added television deals buildings like this one are cropping up all over member schools. Meaning recruiting players has been as competitive as ever. Moos believes WSU just leveled the playing field.

"If we hadn't invested at that time, I don't know if we could have caught up," Moos said. "I believe we've caugt up... I don't think there's a better building in this conference than this one."

With new space for the team doctors for all sports and more space designated for just football, the rest of the Cougar athletics will benefit from not having to share weight room and practice field time with the boys from the gridiron. A win-win for everyone.
