SPOKANE, Wash. -- Earlier today the Play for Gracie campaign received a huge boost when David Estrada of the Seattle Sounders visited Cooper Elementary and presented the school with a jersey to commemorate Gracie Snider, the young girl who lost her life in a traffic accident on the way home from a Spokane Foxes soccer match on May 3rd, 2014.

Here is what Gracie's father, Jay Snider, had to say about the Sounders' visit to the school on facebook:

"A very humbling and amazing day in honor of Gracie. The Sounders presented us and Cooper Elementary with a #7 Snider Jersey. David Estrada was there to speak to the school and we got to sit down and talk for a bit. What a humbled, sincere, and kind soul this man is. So blessed to have this experience today for Gracie. She was loving every minute of it. Love you Gracie. Praying for you Ayla. Special day. Feeling Blessed. Thank you Lindsey Snider O'Brien , Ben O'Brien, the Seattle Sounders, Jessica, and David."

On May 5th around 500 people gathered at Manito Park in Spokane to participate in a candle light vigil to honor Gracie. Since then the Play for Gracie campaign has taken off.

"The support we have been given by the soccer community and the community as a whole has been an amazing blessing," Snider said to SWX's Brad Schwartz. "The Sounders organization has been so heartfelt and genuine. It is simply overwhelming to us."

The other girl in the accident, Ayla James, is currently at the Haborview Pediatric Intensive Care Unit in Seattle. There is a fundraiser to help with Ayla's recovery, click here for more information: https://www.facebook.com/events/1412120735732374/?fref=ts (You will have to log in to facebook to view this event's page).
