Is it a Good Thing that Richard Sherman Won the Madden 15 Cover? Vote in our Poll!

Seattle Seahawks All-Pro cornerback Richard Sherman beat out Carolina Panthers quarterback Cam Newton to be on the cover of famed video game "Madden NFL 15" live on ESPN this Friday, June 6.

There is something more important to be brought up with Sherman's selection to feature on EA Sports' popular football video game, the Madden Curse. Many players have been injured, had poor seasons or watched their career's plummet shortly after appearing on the plastic cover that lines shelves across the world. Over the past 16 seasons, 10 of the players who was plastered on the Madden cover have been injured during the course of the season, according to ESPN.

So while this is clearly a day to celebrate for Seahawks fans as the "best in the game" earns a place on a coveted cover of a game, it also might end up being one that Seattle fans rue. The last time a Seattle player was on Madden, Shaun Alexander started only 10 games and had the worst season of his career since his rookie year for the Seahawks, two years later he was out of the game.
