MOSES LAKE, Wash. - We just happened to come across some awesome pictures on Facebook of some training the US Army was conducting in the Moses Lake area back in May.

The photos were taken by U.S. Army photo by Sgt. Christopher Prows on May 21st when Special Warfare Combatant-craft Crewmen from Special Boat Team 12, stationed at Naval Base Coronado in California were conducting a MEATS (Maritime External Air Transportation System) training. Helping out Special Boat Team 12 during the training was aviators from 4th Battalion, 160th Special Operations Aviation Regiment, from Joint Base Lewis-McChord.

So what is MEATS training? It's basically just what you see in the photos. Crews from a watercraft attach their boat to the chopper hovering above, then they climb a ladder into the helicopter, and the boat is transported to another destination. Once it arrives, the process is repeated, except in reverse.

It's pretty incredible. Check out the photos!
