SPOKANE, Wash. -- The short "A" season is finally here and the Spokane Indians will return to the field at Avista Stadium for their season opener vs. the Eugene Emeralds on Friday, June 13, at 6:30 p.m. PDT live on SWX.

The Indians will be unveiling a special uniform featuring the Salish word for Spokane across the chest, becoming the first-ever professional team to use a jersey with a Native American language. Click here for more on the new uni's: http://bit.ly/1oVUHhU

Spokane's Director of Public Relations, Dustin Toms, joined Sam Adams in the SWX Studio to offer some insight on the state of the team and more on Thursday before the season officially begins. You can watch that full interview in the video player above!

The Indians have also added the two names to their annual Rim of Honor--that always features the mainstays of Dwight Aden, Levi McCormick, Maury Wills and Tommy Lasorda--at Avista, Ken Merkel (a front office fixture in a variety of capacities from 1963-1972) and Ruben Marcilla (the man who has painted the outfield signs at the stadium for the past 25 years). You can watch a special on Marcilla in the player above by selecting the second video!
